*🎤 WHEN LOCAL ARTISTS ARE MOCKED INSTEAD OF CELEBRATED*

A recent Facebook post by Lihle Nunu has caused a stir in the Queenstown creative scene. His caption, aimed at local artists from Bhekela, reads:

*"Artist zaseBhekela you into eziyaziyo kuzigcogca, I tattoo nophila is'America nocula ikaka 🤬"*

Roughly translated, he accuses artists of flaunting tattoos, living like Americans, and "singing trash." This statement not only disrespects the hustle of passionate creatives but also undermines their dreams.

It’s disappointing when those from your own hometown become the first to throw stones. Words like these may seem harmless to some, but to artists who struggle daily for exposure, studio time, and community support, they cut deep.

Artists in Queenstown are not trying to be American—they are trying to be seen. Every beat, every lyric, every stage performance is a cry for recognition, a desire to turn pain into purpose. Instead of mocking them, we should uplift them.

If we keep tearing down our own, Queenstown will never grow into the cultural powerhouse it has the potential to become.

Let us remember: *“Iindaba azipheli”* – stories never end, and neither should our support for each other.
